Float Zone Crystal Furnace from Germany
Float zone crystal furnaces use the float zone method to produce high-purity monocrystalline semiconductor boules without crucibles, ideal for silicon and gallium arsenide. The apparatus melts and recrystallizes a narrow zone along the boule.
