Products classified under HTS 8102.97.00.00

Molybdenum Turning Scrap

Scrap generated from machining molybdenum rods and bars, consisting of fine metal turnings and chips with high molybdenum content. Classified under HTS 8102.97.00.00 as waste and scrap of molybdenum, distinct from unwrought or semi-manufactured forms. Purity typically exceeds 99% molybdenum by weight.

Molybdenum Machining Swarf

Wet or dry swarf from CNC machining of molybdenum components, primarily metal fines and coolant-contaminated particles. Falls under HTS 8102.97.00.00 as molybdenum scrap unfit for direct reuse without processing. Excludes any finished articles or bars.

Molybdenum Electrode Scrap

Discarded ends and trimmings from molybdenum electrodes used in glass melting furnaces. This waste material is classified as molybdenum scrap under HTS 8102.97.00.00 due to its metallurgical grade and recycling suitability. Typically 99.9% pure molybdenum.

Molybdenum Wire Crop Ends Scrap

Short crop ends and rejects from molybdenum wire drawing operations, collected as scrap for remelting. HTS 8102.97.00.00 applies to this clean, high-purity waste (98-99.5% Mo). Not suitable as finished wire products.

Molybdenum Furnace Lining Scrap

Scrap recovered from worn molybdenum furnace linings in high-temperature applications like sapphire crystal growth. Classified under HTS 8102.97.00.00 as molybdenum-containing waste, post-oxidation removal. Requires chemical recovery for reuse.

Molybdenum Sputtering Target Scrap

Used molybdenum targets from semiconductor thin-film deposition processes, machined to remove used surfaces. This high-purity scrap (99.99% Mo) falls under HTS 8102.97.00.00 for recycling into new targets. Cleaned but not remelted.

Molybdenum Alloy Machining Scrap

Turnings from machining TZM (titanium-zirconium-molybdenum) alloy parts, where molybdenum exceeds 99% of alloy content. Still classified as molybdenum scrap under HTS 8102.97.00.00 per Chapter 81 alloy notes. Used in aerospace components.

Molybdenum Rod End Scrap

Cropped ends from molybdenum rod production for lighting filaments and heating elements. Clean, high-purity scrap suitable for remelting, classified HTS 8102.97.00.00. Diameters typically 1-10mm.

Molybdenum Boat Scrap

Crushed remnants of spent molybdenum evaporation boats from vacuum coating operations. Recyclable scrap under HTS 8102.97.00.00, with purity 99.95% after cleaning. Used in optical thin films.

Molybdenum Crucible Scrap

Broken and worn molybdenum crucibles from rare earth metal casting, collected as scrap. HTS 8102.97.00.00 classification for this high-temperature waste material (melting point 2623°C). Purity maintained through arc melting origin.

Molybdenum Sheet Trimmings Scrap

Edge trimmings and offcuts from molybdenum sheet rolling for heat shields and furnace parts. Clean scrap under HTS 8102.97.00.00, thickness 0.1-2mm, 99.9% purity. Ideal for powder production feedstock.

Molybdenum Powder Production Scrap

Oversized particles and collector scrap from atomized molybdenum powder manufacturing. Classified HTS 8102.97.00.00 as irregular metal waste, not meeting powder size specs (<150 micron). Recycled back to powder.

Used Molybdenum Heating Elements Scrap

Deformed and oxidized molybdenum disilicide heating elements from laboratory furnaces, stripped of insulation. HTS 8102.97.00.00 for the molybdenum base metal content scrap. Common in research/ dental labs.

Molybdenum Vacuum Furnace Scrap

Assorted molybdenum fixtures, trays, and supports scrapped from vacuum heat treatment furnaces. High-purity scrap under HTS 8102.97.00.00 after disassembly. Used in titanium alloy processing.

Molybdenum Lighting Filament Scrap

Broken filament mandrels and support wire scrap from halogen lamp manufacturing. Fine wire scrap classified HTS 8102.97.00.00, purity 99.95% Mo. Recovered from lamp assembly rejects.
