Paddy Wild Rice from China
Paddy wild rice refers to unhusked Zizania grains harvested directly from paddies, retaining outer glumes. HTS 1008.90.01.20 covers it as wild rice in its natural state within the 'other cereals' category. Importers process it further to remove debris for culinary use.

Import Tips
• Grade per US Standards for Wild Rice (e.g
• dockage <2%) and include inspection certificate
• Declare hull content accurately, as high paddy levels may trigger weight-based duties
• Avoid misdeclaration as rice paddy (1006.10) by specifying Zizania botanical name
