High-Strength Stainless Tire Cord Fabric from Japan

Stranded stainless steel wire twisted into cord form for weaving into tire reinforcement fabric, primarily for truck and bus radial tires. The fine-wire construction provides superior adhesion to rubber compounds and resistance to fatigue. HTS 7312.10.1030 applies as it is stranded stainless steel explicitly for tire cord use, not yet woven.

Import Tips

Provide engineering drawings showing twist angle and filament diameter to distinguish from general cables during customs valuation

Ensure invoices specify 'tire cord' end-use to prevent reclassification; pair with rubber adhesion test reports

Watch for over-declaration of quantity in uncoated form, as coating addition could invoke chemical treatment subheadings
