D2 tool steel ingot is a high-carbon, high-chromium alloy steel ingot meeting the tool steel definition with more than 1.2% carbon and over 10.5% chromium. It is produced in primary form for remelting and forging into cutting tools and dies. Classified under HTS 7224.10.0045 as an ingot of tool steel per chapter note (e).
