High-Strength Cold-Rolled Steel Coil for Automotive Panels from Japan
Flat-rolled high-strength steel coil, cold-rolled to a thickness under 0.5 mm and width over 600 mm, used for outer body panels in vehicles. Classified under HTS 7209.18.15.60 as high-strength steel (minimum yield point 355 MPa for thickness >=3mm or 275 MPa for thinner), not further worked beyond cold-rolling, in coils. Meets Chapter 72 definitions for nonalloy high-strength steel products.

Import Tips
• Certify high-strength steel specs at entry (yield point 275 MPa min for <3mm thickness) per US Note 72(a) to avoid reclassification
• Provide mill test certificates showing nonalloy composition and cold-rolling process; no further working like coating allowed
• Watch for rust/discoloration—no duty allowance per Chapter note; inspect coils upon arrival
