Vegetable Pretanned Calfskin Hides from China
Whole, unsplit hides from young bovine animals (calves) that have undergone vegetable pretanning, a reversible process using plant tannins without full tanning. These lightweight hides, under 8 kg dried, are preserved but not further prepared, fitting HTS 4101.20.40.00 as raw bovine hides of specified weight. Used primarily for high-quality leather goods.
