GMS Type I is glycerol (polyhydric alcohol) monoesterified with stearic acid from vegetable sources, self-emulsifying grade. Primarily used in margarine and whipped toppings. Qualifies under HTS 3402.42.20.20 as non-ionic vegetable-derived ester.
