Paraldehyde is trimeric acetaldehyde forming six-membered oxygen heterocyclic ring, used as hypnotic pharmaceutical under USP standards. Stabilized with sulfuric acid traces per Chapter note 2(f), classified 2932.99.90.90. Excluded from aldehyde heading 2912 by cyclic polymer note 5.
