Dimer acid from China

Dimer acids are oligomeric cyclanic polycarboxylic acids produced by clay-catalyzed dimerization of unsaturated fatty acids. Despite polymer nature, classified as chemically defined cyclanic polycarboxylic acids under HTS 2917.20.00.00 when meeting purity standards. Used in polyamide hot-melt adhesives.

Import Tips

Submit GPC analysis showing number-average MW <1000 Da to qualify as Chapter 29 compound

Provide acid value and saponification value test results confirming polycarboxylic nature

Distinguish from trimer acids which may require different statistical reporting
