Dimethoxymethane (Methylal) from China
Dimethoxymethane, also known as methylal, is the dimethyl acetal of formaldehyde and an acyclic ether of monohydric methanol. Used as a solvent and chemical intermediate, it qualifies under HTS 2909.19.18.00 as an 'other' acyclic ether of monohydric alcohols per Chapter 29 definitions. This excludes it from cyclic acetal provisions.
