Mercuric Potassium Cyanide Crystals from China

Mercuric potassium cyanide (K2[Hg(CN)4]) is used in electroplating baths and as an intermediate in heavy metal separations. Explicitly named in HTS 2852.10.10.00 as a chemically defined complex cyanide of mercury and potassium. The double salt structure distinguishes it from simple mercuric cyanide.

Import Tips

Provide plating bath formulation sheets showing <0.1% free cyanide to qualify for reduced hazard shipping

Include complex salt formation reaction documentation per Note 6 to Chapter 28 for double salts

Pre-clear with BIS for dual-use chemical status under Commerce Control List Supplement No. 1
