Zirconium fasteners, including bolts, nuts, and screws, are fabricated zirconium articles used in corrosive environments such as offshore oil platforms. They are classified under tariff item 8109.99.00 as other articles of zirconium, but they may be excluded if they qualify as parts of general use under Section XV Note 2.

Import Tips
• Determine whether the fasteners are classifiable as parts of general use under Section XV Note 2 (heading 73.18 for iron or steel, or similar articles of other base metal)
• If they are not parts of general use, they fall under 8109.99.00
• Provide a certificate of analysis showing the zirconium content and any alloying elements
• Ensure the fasteners are not presented as part of a larger article, which may affect classification
