Scrap from melted-down platinum-based dental crowns and bridges, predominantly platinum by weight, is classified as waste and scrap of platinum. Per chapter note 5(a), alloys with 2% or more platinum are treated as platinum alloys. This scrap is imported for the recovery of platinum and does not include metal clad with platinum.
