Sawn soapstone wall caps, cut flat from steatite for use on garden walls or building tops, are classified under tariff item 6802.29.00 as other worked monumental or building stone. Chapter 68 Note 2 explicitly includes steatite as a natural stone covered by heading 68.02 when simply cut or sawn with a flat, even surface, and the product is not slate.
