Hexachlorobenzene (HCB) technical grade is the chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon explicitly named in tariff item 2903.92.00. As a separate chemically defined organic compound, it meets Chapter 29 Note 1(a) even in technical grade with impurities. It is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and historically as a fungicide.
