Technical-grade potassium alum is a lower-purity potassium aluminum sulfate dodecahydrate used for industrial decolorizing and textile sizing. As a double sulfate salt, it is classified as an alum under tariff item 2833.30.00. The technical grade does not exclude it from chapter 28, as the chapter covers separate chemical compounds with impurities.
