Biogenic Natural Gas from Mexico
Biogenic natural gas is methane produced from the decomposition of organic matter in landfills or digesters, captured and treated to pipeline quality. It remains in a gaseous state and is chemically identical to fossil natural gas, consisting primarily of methane. Under the Customs Tariff, it is classified as natural gas in heading 27.11, as the chapter does not exclude gases of biological origin.
