Mixed Arsenic-Mercury Electroplating Sludge from Japan
This sludge is a by-product of electroplating baths that contain arsenic-mercury compounds, recovered specifically for metal reclamation. It qualifies under tariff item 2620.60.00 as an industrial residue containing arsenic and mercury, of a kind used for the extraction of those metals or for the manufacture of their chemical compounds, as set out in Chapter 26 note 3.
